La Jolla, CA – Authorities are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Thursday evening at La Jolla Shores, a popular beach area near UC San Diego.
According to preliminary reports, a young man — believed to be an undergraduate student — was found with stab wounds at the scene. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital where he is currently being treated. His condition has not yet been disclosed.
San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officials confirmed they received a 911 call shortly after 9:00 PM reporting an altercation near the Kellogg Park area. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim with apparent stab wounds and immediately began rendering aid.
At this time, no suspects have been taken into custody, and investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Detectives have not released any information regarding a possible motive or whether the incident was targeted or random.
