It is with profound sadness that the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School community mourns the passing of Mr. Jared Schmidt, a cherished educator, mentor, and colleague. Jared tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, passion, and kindness that touched countless students and peers.
Jared was a highly respected science teacher known for his deep commitment to education and his ability to inspire those around him. He brought a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm into his classroom, making complex concepts accessible and exciting. His impact extended far beyond academics—he was a trusted guide, a listening ear, and a consistent source of encouragement.
Jared’s educational journey was marked by excellence and a strong commitment to the sciences. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from Muskingum College (now Muskingum University). He later continued his studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where he completed a Certification in Secondary Science Education (7-12) in 2006, followed by a Master’s Degree in Science Education (7-12) in 2011.
Throughout his years of teaching, Jared remained committed to helping students not only succeed academically but also grow into thoughtful, curious, and confident individuals. His loss is deeply felt across the Lincoln Park community and by all who had the privilege to know him.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering dedication to teaching, and the quiet strength with which he approached every challenge.
