Fullerton Hopena Pokipala Kailua death-obituary – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Fullerton Pokipala, lovingly known to his family and friends as *Hopena. He was tragically killed in a car crash in Waimānalo on Saturday night, September 20, 2025. He was 30 years old.
A resident of Kailua, Hopena was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was full of love, purpose, and drive—accomplishing so much in his short life and leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and deep connection. His spirit touched everyone he encountered, and he had so much more to give.
Hopena was a devoted fiancé, a loving son, a cherished grandson, and a loyal friend. He adored his family and always made time to show his appreciation for the people he loved most. His bond with his mother, grandmother, and fiancée was especially strong—his presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy and comfort.
Those who knew Hopena will remember his genuine heart, infectious smile, and unwavering positivity. He approached life with courage and compassion, always striving to uplift those around him.
