It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bailey Mathis, age 28, of Omaha, Nebraska, who left us far too soon on September 17, 2025.
Funeral services will be held in Blair, Nebraska next week, with details to be shared as dates and times are finalized. Graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery.
Bailey was born on April 29, 1997, in West Point, Nebraska, the daughter of Brenda Mathis. She attended **Wisner-Pilger Schools**, graduating in 2015. During her high school years, she was a vibrant member of the dance and cheer team, participated in sports, and built lifelong friendships she treasured deeply.
Following high school, Bailey studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a focus in the medical field and began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at Methodist Hospital in several departments before achieving her dream job at Children’s Hospital in the Hematology and Oncology Departments. There, Bailey devoted herself to bringing comfort, compassion, and joy to children and their families, leaving an unforgettable mark of kindness and care.
Bailey lived life to the fullest. She loved to dance, sing, and belt out karaoke, attend concerts and Husker games, and play golf. With her contagious laugh, impeccable sense of style, and special love for Dolly Parton, she lit up every room she entered. Above all, Bailey will be remembered as one of the kindest, most loving souls—someone who made every person feel seen, valued, and loved.
Bailey’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
