Sarah Van Ostrand Plymouth County Accident — A tragic crash in western Iowa claimed the life of 19-year-old Sarah Van Ostrand on Saturday night, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Authorities say the crash happened around 7:45 p.m. as Sarah was traveling west on County Road C12. She reportedly crossed the center line and collided with a semi that was preparing to turn into Dykstra Dairy.
Sarah was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The loss of Sarah, a young life with so much ahead, has left family, friends, and the Plymouth County community heartbroken. She will be remembered for her spirit, warmth, and the love she shared with those who knew her.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements will be announced by her family in the coming days.
