UTC Active Shooter – A report of a possible active shooter on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) sparked panic and a campus-wide lockdown on Thursday afternoon. After a thorough investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies, no credible threat was found.
Emergency Alert Issued
Around 12:30 PM, UTC students and staff received an emergency alert warning of a potential active shooter near the University Center and campus library. The message urged people to “Run. Hide. Fight.” — a standard active shooter response protocol.
