According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. when a vehicle traveling eastbound left the roadway and struck a tree. Jessenya was found inside the car and was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. Two additional passengers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities indicated that alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash.
