It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Noah Snyder, a student-athlete at Marquette University and member of the men’s lacrosse team, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Milwaukee on Friday, September 5, 2024. He was just 20 years old.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. near 27th Street and St. Paul Avenue when the vehicle Noah was traveling in, along with several other students, was struck by another car. Milwaukee police reported that Noah and a fellow student were killed, and four others were injured. The driver of the second vehicle, a 41-year-old man, was arrested, and charges are pending.
Noah’s love for lacrosse was evident from a young age. He honed his skills at Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania under head coach Desiderio Gonzalez, and at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute under coach Pete Hudecki, before bringing his talent and dedication to Marquette. His passion for the game, strong work ethic, and leadership both on and off the field inspired teammates, coaches, and friends alike.
Beyond athletics, Noah will be remembered as a kind, driven, and compassionate young man whose smile and energy left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His loss is deeply felt not only by his family and teammates, but also by the broader Marquette community and the many friends he made throughout his life.
Marquette University has announced a Mass to honor the lives lost, to be held Saturday, September 6, at 1 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre. Spaces for community support and reflection will also be open from noon to 3 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union.
Noah’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, teammates, friends, and the Marquette community. He will be cherished for the joy he brought to others and the legacy of strength and love he leaves behind.
