August 31, 2025 – Pocatello, ID — A member of the Idaho State University football team has been found dead in what authorities believe to be an apparent suicide. The identity of the student-athlete has not yet been released pending family notification.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene after receiving a report earlier this week. The individual was found deceased upon arrival. Officials have stated that while the investigation is still in its early stages, preliminary indications point to a self-inflicted death.
University officials have expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the student’s family, teammates, and the ISU community. Counseling services have been made available to students and staff as they grieve.
