It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of two remarkable men from the fishing community this week — Capt. Jason Stock and Eric Whitted.
Jason, a beloved charter captain, reportedly took his own life. Eric, too, left us far too soon. Both men were known not only for their extraordinary skill and passion on the water but also for the kindness, generosity, and light they brought to those around them.
Their impact on the fishing world — and on the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing them — is immeasurable. They were friends, mentors, and brothers of the sea whose presence made our community stronger, brighter, and more connected.
Our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and all who mourn their passing. May the legacy of Capt. Jason Stock and Eric Whitted live on in the stories we share, the waters we fish, and the love that remains in our hearts.
May they rest in peace, and may we always remember the light they shared with us.
