A woman in her 40s died Thursday after reportedly jumping from the McKee Road overpass onto U.S. Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers received a report at 11:47 a.m. that a person had fallen onto the highway and was hit by a passing vehicle. All southbound lanes of Highway 101 were closed for more than two hours as authorities responded to the scene.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who struck her remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, officials said.
