With deep sadness, we share the passing of Lavaughn Polk, 38, of Syracuse, who tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on the morning of July 31, 2025.
The incident occurred near the intersection of East Adams Street and South Townsend Street. Emergency responders arrived to find Lavaughn with severe injuries. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Lavaughn was a cherished member of the Syracuse community, remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His untimely passing leaves a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.
