With deepest sorrow, the communities of Owasso and Muskogee, Oklahoma, mourn the tragic and untimely passing of Whitney Resendiz, who left this world far too soon on the evening of Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 36, following a murder-suicide incident.
At around 9 a.m., Owasso Police responded to the home in reference to a family member finding the bodies of two other family members who lived in the home.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public and no evidence to suggest there are any outstanding suspects.
Whitney was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She was known for her generous heart, infectious smile, and unwavering strength. Whether in her work, her friendships, or her love for her family, Whitney brought light, laughter, and compassion to those around her. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She leaves behind her 13 year old daughter Ava whom she was raising herself, family members, friends, and a community that loved her dearly. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we are also filled with gratitude for the time we were given with Whitney and the memories she leaves behind.
Details regarding services and memorials will be shared in the coming days. In this time of profound sorrow, we ask for privacy and prayers for Whitney’s loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
