It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darrico Weir, 17, of Jonesboro, Georgia, who tragically lost his life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, following a senseless act of violence. Darrico was shot on Saturday while at a home on Villa Way and later succumbed to his injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Darrico was a vibrant young man whose life was full of promise. Known for his bright spirit, warm heart, and love for family and friends, he brought joy to all who knew him. His energy, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the Jonesboro community.
He was a beloved son, friend, and classmate. While his time with us was far too short, Darrico’s impact will be felt forever in the hearts of those who cherished him.
He is survived by his devoted mother and family, who ask for privacy and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
