Michael Sloan NYPD suicide – It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of NYPD Officer Michael Sloan, who tragically took his own life. Michael was a dedicated public servant, a loyal friend, and a beloved member of the NYPD community.
Michael began his career with the New York City Police Department in December 2020. After graduating from the Police Academy, he was assigned to the 103rd Precinct, where he quickly earned the respect of his peers for his work ethic and professionalism. Driven by passion and commitment, Michael later joined the Jamaica BID Unit, continuing to serve with pride and purpose.
His ambition and talent soon led him to the 75th Precinct Detective Squad, where he set his sights on becoming a detective — a goal he pursued with determination and heart.
Michael was actively involved in several NYPD-affiliated organizations, reflecting his deep connection to both his colleagues and his Irish heritage. He was a proud member of the NYPD Emerald Society, the NYPD Anchor Club, and the NYPD Gaelic Football Club. He also served as a Board Member of the NYPD Brooklyn-Queens Holy Name Society, demonstrating his commitment to faith, community, and service.
Michael will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness, and the compassion he showed to everyone around him. His loss is felt deeply by his family, friends, and fellow officers.
