Omar Tovar, 36, of Long Beach, California, tragically passed away on Sunday evening, July 13, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Pacific Coast Highway near Golden Avenue.
Born in 1989, Omar was a cherished son, brother, and friend, known for his generous spirit and warm heart. He was a lifelong member of the Long Beach community and touched the lives of many with his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering support for those around him.
The fatal incident occurred around 6:35 p.m. when Omar was attempting to cross the highway. Despite the swift response from Long Beach police and firefighters, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity.
