An elderly couple was found dead Tuesday afternoon in York County in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Ron Montgomery reported that deputies responded to a residence near Thornrose Drive and Glen Laurel Way at approximately 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of a 90-year-old man and his 88-year-old wife. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the husband fatally shot his wife before taking his own life. Sheriff Montgomery noted that the couple had lived in the area for nearly two decades.
The investigation remains ongoing.
