A neighborhood near Sedro-Woolley was locked down Friday evening following a deadly shooting that drew a large law enforcement response.
Gunfire was reported earlier in the evening on Panorama Place in Skagit County. While official details remain limited, neighbors in the area reported seeing a body lying on the ground shortly after the incident.
Authorities closed off access to Panorama Place around 7:00 p.m., restricting public and media views of the ongoing investigation. A significant number of evidence markers were visible on the roadway, indicating an active crime scene.
Dozens of patrol vehicles from multiple law enforcement agencies lined the street, just beyond the crime scene tape. According to residents, the shooting appeared to have taken place near the end of the row of vehicles, slightly off to the right.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim or any information about a potential suspect. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not said whether any arrests have been made.
Neighbors were asked to remain in their homes as detectives worked late into the night collecting evidence.
