Racine, WI – June 19, 2025 — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered hanging near the South Memorial Bridge early Wednesday morning in Racine.
Racine Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a call at approximately 6:15 a.m. regarding a person found unresponsive and suspended from a structure near the bridge. Upon arrival, emergency personnel declared the individual deceased at the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. It is unclear at this time whether foul play is suspected or if the incident may have been a suicide.
The South Memorial Bridge area was temporarily closed off to traffic while investigators processed the scene. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Racine Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
