Janesville Police and emergency medical services responded to reports of shots fired Tuesday morning in a residential neighborhood on the city’s north side.
Authorities were called to the 2600 block of North Pontiac Drive around 10:45 a.m., near its intersection with Holiday Drive. Police confirmed the scene was secured as of 12:24 p.m., but a heavy law enforcement presence remains in the area.
In a subsequent update, officials reported that an active investigation is now centered in the 2500 block of Holiday Drive, directly adjacent to the initial location.
Residents are being urged to avoid the area while the investigation continues. No additional details regarding potential injuries or suspects have been released at this time.
