It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zaria Khadejah Carr, age 27, of Twin City, Georgia, who departed this life on June 14, 2025.
Zaria was a vibrant, loving, and compassionate soul who brought light and warmth to everyone who knew her. Born and raised in Twin City, she was known for her generous spirit, her radiant smile, and her unwavering devotion to family and friends. Zaria touched many lives with her kindness, strength, and laughter.
On the evening of June 14, law enforcement responded to a call for a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of 5th Avenue in Twin City. Upon arrival, first responders found Zaria unconscious. Despite all efforts, she was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Zaria’s husband, Shamarcus Jameal Carr, age 36 of Twin City, GA, could not be located. Zaria’s 2021 Dodge Challenger was also missing. An alert was put out for Zaria’s car. Just after 11:00 p.m., law enforcement was alerted that the car was in the Wayne County, GA area. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office located the car and attempted to stop the car.Shamarcus was inside the car and shot himself. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Zaria’s sudden passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved her. She is survived by her family, including her parents, siblings, extended relatives, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory forever.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. The family requests privacy as they grieve this unimaginable loss and await answers from the ongoing investigation.
