With profound sadness, we announce the untimely passing of Lavar Steeles, age 23, who tragically lost his life on June 13, 2025, in Southwest Baltimore.
Lavar was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence brought light and energy to those around him. Known for his kind heart, sharp sense of humor, and deep loyalty to the people he loved, Lavar touched the lives of many during his short time on earth.
In the early morning hours of June 13, police were alerted to a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. Lavar had been shot in the 1500 block of West Fayette Street and arrived at the hospital seeking help. Despite the dedicated efforts of medical staff, Lavar succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
His sudden and senseless passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered for his strength, his dreams, and the love he gave so freely.
Lavar is survived by his loving family and a wide circle of friends who mourn the loss of a young life full of promise. Funeral arrangements will be shared in the coming days.
