17-year-old AJ “Zara” Sobansky, a junior at Millard North High School was identified as one of the deceased victim in Murder-Suicide in West Omaha. Omaha Fire and Police Departments responded to a shooting on Friday, June 6th at 13615 California Street in West Omaha.
According to initial reports, callers alerted authorities to a possible shooting involving two individuals. Upon arrival, first responders found both parties deceased at the scene. Investigators believe one person shot the other before taking their own life.
AJ (Zara) was smart, talented, and completely herself. She was active in show choir, forensics, poetry, and theater—most recently performing in Mean Girls. Whether on stage or just with her friends, AJ brought joy, honesty, and heart to everything she did.
