It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Marcus Dewayne Stollenwreck, who died following a shooting incident on Saturday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 45.
Marcus lost his life in a senseless act of violence in the 1700 block of 50th Street in the Ensley neighborhood. Authorities have launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Born in 1979, Marcus was a beloved son, friend, and member of the community. Those who knew him remember his warm spirit, his unwavering kindness, and his ability to bring laughter and comfort to those around him. His presence was a gift, and his absence leaves an indescribable void.
Marcus’s life, though cut short, made a lasting impact on the hearts of many. He will be remembered not only for how he died, but for how he lived—with strength, with compassion, and with dignity.
He is survived by family members and loved ones who are grieving this tremendous loss and who ask for privacy and peace during this difficult time.
A memorial service to celebrate Marcus’s life will be announced at a later date.
