It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of April Houston, 53, and Robert Houston, 64, of Dover Township, Ohio. The couple, died on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide Sunday afternoon in Tuscarawas County
The incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m., as preparations were being made for a graduation celebration at their home. Authorities confirmed the the case is a murder-suicide, which remains under investigation. April was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Stark County, where, despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased. Robert was found at the scene.
The family wishes to emphasize that their hearts are broken, not only by the tragedy itself, but by the sudden loss of two cherished lives. While the pain is unimaginable, they remain surrounded by love and the support of a caring community.
April and Robert leave behind a grieving family, including the child for whom the graduation party was being prepared. While words can never fully capture the loss, those who knew April and Robert will forever remember their laughter, their love for each other, and the lives they touched.
