It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alyssa Shippy, age 20, whose life was tragically cut short following a deeply distressing incident discovered during a missing person investigation.
Alyssa had recently been reported missing by concerned relatives from out of state. Officers serving a search warrant at a local residence uncovered a heartbreaking scene. Upon entering, officers found an adult male with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds, as well as a juvenile male, and a dog, all deceased. Among the deceased found in the home was a woman believed to be Alyssa.
Police have confirmed that Alyssa Shippy is the granddaughter of a couple involved in a 2023 murder-suicide in Broken Arrow.
Also confirmed: Rodney Shippy and his 10-year-old son were found dead in the home Wednesday. Rodney is Alyssa’s father.
Alyssa was a bright, kind, and deeply loved young woman with dreams, potential, and a future that should have been hers to live. Her warmth and gentle presence left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her. She was a daughter, a friend, and a young woman full of promise.
