It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charlotte Fosgate, 17, of Oak Grove, Oregon. Charlotte was found deceased following a distressing incident that has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken.
Charlotte was reported missing after she was last seen late on the evening of Friday, May 1, 2025, near SE Arista Drive in Oak Grove. She had left home with only her phone and a TriMet bus pass. Her last known location was near Portland’s iconic St. Johns Bridge, where a final photo was taken before her phone was turned off.
Born in 2007, Charlotte was a bright, compassionate, and creative young woman who touched the lives of many. A student with a love for art, music, and literature, Charlotte had a gentle soul and a unique way of seeing the world. Her empathy and kindness drew others to her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Charlotte’s disappearance prompted a large community effort to locate her, as loved ones and volunteers rallied together, holding onto hope. Tragically, her journey ended far too soon.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Charlotte is survived by her parents, siblings, extended family, and many friends who will forever cherish the time they shared with her.
A memorial service will be announced in the coming days, where the community will have the opportunity to celebrate Charlotte’s life and honor her memory.
Charlotte Fosgate will be remembered not for the way her life ended, but for the light she brought into the world during her time here. May she rest in peace.
