It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Stillman College announces the untimely passing of current student Sieas Elliot and alumni Destiny Gardner and Varick Lawrence. The three were tragically involved in an automobile accident in the Atlanta, Georgia metro area on the evening of May 23, 2025.
This unimaginable loss has deeply impacted the Stillman College community. Sieas, Destiny, and Varick were cherished members of the Stillman family—bright, compassionate individuals whose presence lit up every room they entered. Whether as students, classmates, teammates, or friends, they exemplified the values and spirit of Stillman College.
“This is a terrible tragedy for everyone in our Stillman family,” said Dr. Yolanda W. Page, eighth president of Stillman College. “The spirit of each of these proud Stillmanites will live on with all who were greeted by their warm smiles and welcoming personality. The entire Stillman College community mourns this heartbreaking loss. We extend our sincere condolences to their families, friends, classmates, and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.”
As we grieve together, we remember Sieas, Destiny, and Varick for the joy, kindness, and inspiration they brought into the lives of so many. Their legacies will remain forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving them.
