Jake Curtis Obituary – It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the tragic loss of three beloved students from Dos Pueblos High School—Jake Curtis, 18, Michael Ochsner, 17, and Alexander Wood, 15—who died Sunday evening as a result of a devastating vehicle crash on Highway 1.

Jake, a senior, was known for his leadership, compassion, and vibrant personality. He had plans for the future and was admired by his peers and teachers alike for his determination and kindness.

Michael, a junior, brought laughter and warmth into every room. His curiosity and creativity were matched only by his deep loyalty to friends and family.

Alexander, a sophomore, was a bright and promising young man with a gentle heart and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Though young, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Dos Pueblos High School Principal Bill Woodard shared the heartbreaking news with the school community on Monday, describing the deep impact each student had on the campus and the collective grief now felt by students, faculty, and families.

These three lives, taken far too soon, have left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew them. The entire Goleta community mourns alongside the families during this unimaginable time of loss.

Support services are being provided at the school for students and staff. Funeral and memorial details will be shared by the families as they become available.

Jake, Michael, and Alexander will forever be remembered for the joy they brought into the world, and their memories will live on in the hearts of all who loved them.
