It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamal Jones, 34, who died early Monday morning after a tragic shooting on the east side of Columbus. The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of Fountain Lane. Jamal was transported to the hospital in critical condition but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Born and raised in Columbus, Jamal was known by friends and family as a kind, loyal, and hardworking man who was always quick to lend a hand or offer a smile. His life was marked by resilience and love—especially for his community and those closest to him.
Jamal’s sudden and senseless death has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him. He is survived by loving family members and a wide circle of friends who are heartbroken by his loss and committed to honoring his memory.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days. In the meantime, the family asks for privacy and continued prayers as they mourn this unimaginable loss.
