Elizabeth City, NC (April 27, 2025) — Chaos erupted on the campus of Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) as law enforcement confirmed an active mass shooting incident. At least one person has been confirmed dead on arrival (DOA), and several others have sustained injuries of varying severity.
Emergency services from surrounding counties have responded to assist, with air support deployed to expedite transport for critical patients. Multiple agencies, including state and federal law enforcement, are reportedly on the scene.
