Shamar Trimmer, 29, of Henrico County, Virginia, was tragically taken from us early Sunday morning, March 30, 2025, following a shooting in downtown Richmond. Shamar was found in a parking lot in the 1800 block of East Main Street, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by Virginia State Police troopers and Richmond Police officers to provide first aid and rush him to a local hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shamar was born on January 12, 1996, and grew up in Henrico County, where he was known for his kind heart and infectious sense of humor. He had a strong bond with his family and was a loyal friend to many. Shamar’s love for life and his compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Shamar’s passion for sports and his dedication to helping others were a few of the many qualities that made him stand out. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and his positive energy was a constant source of comfort to his loved ones.
The community is in mourning as they remember a young man full of promise whose life was tragically cut short. His family has requested privacy during this incredibly difficult time but is grateful for the support they have received from friends and the community.
A memorial service will be planned to honor Shamar’s life and legacy.
