Jumari Ya’seen McCoy, 26, of Roanoke, Virginia, was tragically taken from us on the evening of Friday, March 28, 2025, after being shot in the 700 block of 29th Street NW. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Born on October 12, 1998, Jumari was known for his warm smile, caring nature, and determination to make a difference in the lives of those around him. A lifelong resident of Roanoke, he had a deep love for his community and was well-regarded by friends and family alike. Jumari’s infectious energy and passion for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jumari was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was dedicated to building a better future for himself and those around him. In his short time on this earth, he touched many hearts with his kindness and enthusiasm for life.

Jumari is survived by his parents, siblings, and a close-knit group of friends who will forever remember his positive spirit and the joy he brought into their lives. His untimely death has left a profound void in the hearts of all who loved him.
