It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lemark Jaramillo, age 32, who tragically lost his life on the weekend of March 1, 2025, following an incident inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Copley Square, Boston. Lemark was a beloved son, brother, and friend, remembered by those who knew him for his warmth, kindness, and loyalty.

Lemark’s life was cut short during an altercation at 569 Boylston St., where, according to authorities, he entered the restaurant and allegedly chased two individuals while armed with a knife. In an effort to protect others, an off-duty Boston police officer responded to the situation, leading to a confrontation in which Lemark was shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

While the circumstances surrounding the event are under investigation, Lemark’s family has expressed their deep shock and disbelief, stating that he was not a threat to the community. They remember him as someone who had a kind heart and was not defined by the tragic events of that day.

Lemark’s untimely passing has left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will live on in those who loved him. In this difficult time, the family asks for privacy as they mourn their loss.

A memorial service will be held to honor Lemark’s life and legacy, and details will be shared with those who wish to pay their respects.

May Lemark Jaramillo rest in peace.
