Kings Mills, OH – January 31, 2025 – Kings High School and Junior High School were placed on lockdown earlier today after reports of an alleged active threat turned out to be a hoax. The incident, believed to be a “swatting” prank, prompted a swift response from local law enforcement.
At approximately 10:00 AM, the schools received a call indicating a potential threat on campus, prompting administrators to initiate lockdown procedures as a precaution. Law enforcement agencies, including the Kings Mills Police Department and surrounding authorities, quickly arrived on the scene and conducted a thorough search of the buildings.
After a detailed investigation, officials confirmed that the threat was false and determined the incident to be a case of swatting – a malicious hoax designed to trigger a large-scale emergency response. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and students and staff remained safe throughout the ordeal.
