On the evening of January 22, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., San Antonio Police Department officers responded to a Suicide in Progress in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway. Upon their arrival, the suspect opened fire on the responding officers, resulting in a total of seven officers being injured by gunfire.

We are relieved to share that, as of today, six of the injured officers have been released from the hospital and are heading home to recover. One officer remains in the hospital, receiving treatment, but we are hopeful for a full recovery.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks our officers face each day and night to protect our community. We ask that you keep these officers and their families in your thoughts and prayers for a swift and full recovery.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the San Antonio community during this challenging time. Please continue to pray for the safety and well-being of all law enforcement officers, as they work to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods and return home at the end of their shifts.

The San Antonio Police Department thanks you for your unwavering support.
