Patricia Tappan, 86, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, following a tragic fire at her home on Conrad Street. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Patricia was a beloved mother, businesswoman, and friend who left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

At the time of the fire, which occurred early Monday morning, Patricia was found in her bedroom suffering from serious burns. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries at Bridgeport Hospital several hours later. The fire, which was contained to her bedroom in a five-unit apartment building, has been determined to be accidental by authorities, though an investigation is ongoing.

Patricia’s legacy extends beyond her family. In the 1970s, she owned and operated a popular beauty salon, Hair Inc., in Danbury, where she earned the trust and friendship of many loyal clients over the years. She had a warm, nurturing spirit, and was known for her kindness, humor, and the care she showed to everyone she met.

Patricia had lived alone in Naugatuck for many years, where she was a devoted mother to her son, John Michinko, and a cherished presence in her community. Her memory will be kept alive through the love of her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, John, and other relatives who will miss her dearly. A private memorial service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Red Cross or a local charity of choice.

May Patricia rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire those who knew her.
