It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Darian Bunnell, age 22, of Rockford, Illinois. Darian tragically lost his life on Saturday, January 18, 2025, after being shot on the city’s east side. His untimely death has left his family, friends, and community in deep sorrow.
He was loving father, a loved son, brother, and friend whose presence will be missed by all who knew him. Darian’s enthusiasm for life, his loyalty to his loved ones, and his unwavering support for his friends made him a cherished member of the Rockford community.
On the afternoon of January 18, Darian was involved in a tragic incident while in the 4800 block of Javelin Drive. Despite efforts to save him, Darian succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and the Rockford Police Department is actively working to gather information and identify any suspects involved.
