San Antonio police officers are investigating after a man is dead and a woman is injured following a shooting/attempted car burglary on the Northwest Side. Authorities identified the victim as Michael Vargas, 32.
The incident tool place at 1:23 a.m. Saturday at a Twin Peaks restaurant off of IH-10 West and De Zavala Road. According to San Antonio police, a man and woman dining at the restaurant and then went outside to find individuals breaking into their car.
One suspect pulled out a gun and shot and shot Michael. The woman was also grazed as a result of the shooting. Michael was pronounced dead on scene. The incident remains under investigation.
