ll lanes at I-35 and SH-71 were closed for several hours due to police activity. The Austin Police Department is investigating an attempted suicide by jumping off bridge on Austin’s busy I-35 Saturday morning. The incident happened Nov. 23 at the I-35/SH 71 intersection.
Emergency crews responded to the area following report of the incident. According to report, negotiators were on the scene working to get her down.
Officers were able to convince the woman to get down and were slowly reopening the lanes.
